Slowly getting there, but a long way to go. Smoothing the surface is proving to be a challenge, but I did talk to Steve Wang and was able to get some tips!

try setting the alcohol on fire and snuffing it quickly. with roma plastina it works wonders. sometimes just a consistent heat source.

careful. to hot and it can run too. makes neat effects, but can destroy textures.

or very strong alcohol like 99% to smooth out the clay, I know right now I am doing a Batman Cowl and making it smooth is a Bitch.

yeah I'm almost there i am doing a broken Batman cowl from The Dark Knight Rises, if you have seen the movie I think you know the one I am doing.

This is turning out good. You should get some flat/round rakes and flatten those surfaces then there won't be any streaks. It will save your customers from sanding like crazy! LOL
